Human trafficking
Human trafficking is a serious violation of human dignity and one of the most important businesses of organized crime worldwide.
The perpetrators often deliberately exploit a victim's personal or economic plight and
- force them into prostitution, begging, organ donation, the commission of crimes or
- exploit them for labor.
The victims are put under emotional pressure and subjected to physical and psychological abuse. They have to bring in money. The masterminds remain in the background and cash in. And the victims? They are left traumatized.
The main causes of human trafficking are poverty, lack of education, the helplessness of the victims and the demand for prostitutes and workers to be exploited.
